Free online video downloader

How to download a video from a link

Copy the video URL and paste it into the field above. FoxyFile will show the available formats, so you can download an MP4, choose a resolution, or save the audio track.

• Copy the video link. Use the browser address bar or the Share button in the app;
• Paste the URL. The available video and audio options will appear after the link is checked;
• Choose a quality. Press Download, and the finished file will go to your browser downloads.

Supported video sites

The downloader supports public links from YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, X (Twitter), VK Video, Rutube, and hundreds of other websites. It works with regular videos, Shorts, Reels, clips, public posts, and recordings of finished live streams.

The link must open without signing in. Private videos, subscriber-only posts, active live streams, and content blocked in our region cannot be downloaded.

Download a video as MP4, HD, or 4K

The formats depend on the source video. FoxyFile shows one option for each available resolution, so you do not have to choose between codecs or several files with the same label.

• MP4 plays on phones, computers, and TVs. For most screens, 720p or 1080p is a good choice;
• 2K and 4K appear when the source video offers them. These files are larger and take longer to prepare;
• Audio only works well for lectures, interviews, and podcasts. The audio file is usually M4A.

Download videos on PC, Android, and iPhone

The online video downloader works in Safari, Chrome, and other modern browsers on Windows, macOS, Android, and iPhone. You do not need to install an app or extension. On Android, the file usually goes to Downloads. If Safari opens the video in a new tab, use Share and Save to Files.

If the video downloader is not working

• Check that the video is public. Open the link in a private browser window; it should play without signing in;
• Try again later. Video sites sometimes refuse downloads for a short time;
• Choose a lower resolution. A long 4K video takes much longer to prepare than the 1080p or 720p version.
