FoxyFile has no user accounts and uses no advertising or behavioral analytics. This notice explains the limited data the service still needs to process in order to work, stay secure, and diagnose failures.

Files, links, and temporary processing

When you upload a file or submit a public link, FoxyFile uses it only to perform the operation you requested. For a link-based tool, the service contacts the source website named by that link. File names may be used to name the result returned to you.

Some inputs are handled only in memory. Operations that need a downloadable result, a preview, or a prepared video may write the input or result to temporary storage. Those files are removed by age within about 30 minutes, whether or not you download them. Their links are signed and cannot be found by listing a public directory.

Link-analysis data is cached for up to 10 minutes. The state of a long operation, which may include the submitted public link, expires one hour after its last update. These records exist only to complete the request and report its progress.

Operational metrics and security

To measure reliability and prevent abuse, the service processes your IP address and, for link tools, the submitted URL. Before either value is written to the metrics database, it is transformed with a salted SHA-256 hash. These pseudonymous records cannot show the contents of a file.

A metric may also contain the tool or source provider, input and output formats, success or error category, byte counts, page count, duration, and transfer speed. Raw metric records are retained for 15 days and records older than that are deleted by a daily cleanup. Short-lived hashed counters used for rate limits expire within one hour.

This processing is necessary to provide the operation you request and is also based on FoxyFile's legitimate interest in securing the service, understanding failures, and keeping it reliable.

Cookies and browser storage

• A functional cookie remembers the language you selected.
• Your light or dark theme is stored locally in your browser until you clear it.
• FoxyFile sets no advertising or analytics cookies and includes no third-party tracking scripts.

Sharing and service providers

FoxyFile does not sell personal data or share it for advertising. The main application runs on a server in Finland. Hosting and email providers process the technical data needed to operate those services on FoxyFile's behalf. When you use a link-based tool, the source website receives the server-side request needed to retrieve the public resource.

Your choices and rights

You can remove the language cookie and saved theme through your browser. Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data, or object to its processing. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

The service has no accounts, and its operational identifiers are pseudonymous. FoxyFile may therefore need the approximate time and type of operation to locate a record and may be unable to link a record to you with certainty.
